10 Secrets...

February 18th 2008 - Alexei Sopin was kind enough to answer our questionnaire during the opening of HOUSE MUSIC THURSDAYS at Manago Bar & lounge. 

1. Favourite meal?  Chicken is one of my favourite meals because it is white meat and is very light.  Not only is it very good, it is also very easy to digest.

2. Favourite Television show?  I don't watch TV due to the fact that I never find anything interesting... It is evaded by publicity and takes a lot of time, which I don't have!!

3. Favourite movie?  "Sandpit Generals" (1971) directed by Hall Bartlett is one of my favourite movies.  It is a story about young homeless boys from Latin America who form a little group called "Sand Generals" (their territory is an abandoned beach).  While watching this movie, we notice that these children need to fight to survive, commit crimes and break the law.  Despite all these actions we still feel that they are human; that they regret certain things such as having feelings (especially the desire to love). *smile*

4. Best music band?  Pink Floyd has always been present in my house since my childhood.  My father was a very big fan so the albums such as "Animals", "Division Bell" and "Wish You Were Here" were always playing non-stop in my house.  Right now, Rammstein, a heavy metal German band, really impressed me ever since their hit "Du Hast".  This song really made me adore the new industrial sound.  

5. DJs that you admire? I started listening to electronic music through Trance by listening to the radio station di.fm.  Tiësto and Armin Van Buuren are the top Djs most listened to so I learned how to appreciate them first.  I then had the chance to discover underground House music.  Danny Tenaglia was also a huge discovery for me.  This wonderful DJ has helped me discover Tribal music.  My other influences are Chus & Ceballos, Mark Knight, Victor Calderone, DJ Vibe, Richie Santana, D-Formation, Carlos Fauvrelle, Cytric, Marcelo Castelli and many others.

6. Your biggest fear? I have always been afraid to lose someone who is very close to me.  I have known people who have gone through this and believe me, it is something that is very hard to get through.

7. Where would you like to visit? Germany!! I have always been passionate about Germany.  It is one of the most developed countries in Europe and possesses a big culture.  There are many big events that hare present in this country that I would love to participate in such as "The Beer Festival" in Munich, Bavaria and of course "The Love Parade" that is one of the biggest parades in the... world!!

8. DJs that you would love to perform with? To become big one day, you must start small.  You must learn and progress.  We have to choose big idols and give ourselves role models that we can follow and get inspired from and finally produce what you have to produce... *smile*

9. Where would you like to perform? "L'Amphithéatre" is one of the most simple and sophisticated location where the music spreads out best.  The place is circular and the resonance of the sound is perfect.  That in a sense makes it historical.  And to top that all, this is the place where one of the most memorable Pink Floyd concert took place.

10. The woman of your dreams resembles...? Angelina Jolie is... almost perfect as the female model: big eyes, nice lips, very young face, a charming look and a very feminine attitude... I think she represents most of the men's dream girl!! *laugh*
